75 Hard…the Challenge to change your Life

Do something to challenge yourself.

You hear this all the time from fitness influencers, coaches, trainers, family and friends trying to get you to try new things. Well, I have the ultimate challenge for you…

75 Hard is THE challenge for those looking to change their lives. This challenge focuses on mental toughness, pushing yourself out of the comfort zone and focusing on your weaknesses. It makes you change, it forces you to do things you probably don’t want to do, or say you don’t have time to do. It opens your eyes to the excuses you use on a daily basis…. “I don’t have time…” “It’s too late at this point…” “I’ll start Monday…” “I’m too tired…”

This challenge is created to push you outside of your normal. It’s created to wake you up and make you realize there is more in you than you think, there is more drive, more confidence, more umph! than you know! This challenge was created to wake up the Mother F*king Bad Ass inside of you.

Created by one of the smartest men on the planet…in my opinion…Andy Fersilla is the mastermind behind the 75 Hard challenge.

If you don’t know who Andy is…well first off you’re missing out on a wealth of knowledge and free advice, but secondly…he is the most influential man this day in age.

This man created two supplement businesses from nothing…zero dollars to his name, with a buddy in 2009. Supplement Superstore made about $30,000 the first year…TOTAL. How would you feel if you put everything you owned into a business that only made 30k for the first year!? You’d probably have given up by now, sold everything and taken that money to spend somewhere else.

But this guy…he kept going, kept growing his business, woke up every day telling himself he would be successful and have a multimillion dollar company.

He put into the universe what he wanted…and with all his hard work, motivation and mental toughness he now has multiple multimillion dollar companies and is living his best life.

CEO of my favorite company 1st Phorm, Andy has created not only an amazing supplement line, but a lifestyle, a #phamily, a way of living for thousands of people all over the world. He has helped changed so many people’s lives he probably can’t even count. The man speaks truth whether you want to hear it or not. He’s the guy in your corner telling you to get off you ass and do the work.

He is the real life version of what you want to be…and he’s sharing how he got there. He’s sharing his mindset in this challenge. He is giving you the tools to be just like him.

THE BIG QUESTION IS….WILL YOU TAKE THE CHALLENGE??

Jon and I started 75 Hard January 1, 2022….what a way to start off the new year.

We knew we needed a change in our routines and a push to start some new projects in our lives. We just moved to Georgia for work, we were in a new state with new jobs, new home and a whole new lot of possibilities. This was our kickstart to taking on the 75 Hard challenge.

So what does the Challenge entail??

There are 5 core tasks you must complete every single day for 75 days. These tasks aren’t difficult, but they are things you must add to your daily life. The big kicker is…if you DO NOT complete all 5 tasks during the day… YOU START OVER AT DAY 1!!!

So this challenge really pushes you to be your best every single day and not letting the day get away from you. No one ever wants to fail so putting this in the challenge makes the driving factor of victory even more juicy in the end.

So what are the 5 core tasks? They aren’t impossible if that’s what you’re thinking…

but they are challenging enough that it will throw you off your normal, mediocre game.

The 5 TASKS:

  1. TAKE A PROGRESS PICTURE EVERYDAY

  2. DRINK 1 GALLON OF WATER

  3. TWO 45 MINUTE WORKOUTS DAILY. (ONE MUST BE OUTSIDE)

  4. READ 10 PAGES OF A NON-FICTION BOOK (no audio books)

  5. STICK TO A DIET/ NO CHEAT MEALS/NO ALCOHOL

With each of these tasks you will have to find time in your day to complete each one. Taking a progress picture every day doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's something so small that it often gets forgotten...and then you have to start all over.

Drinking a gallon of water a day, it's not the hardest thing to do...but you will have to pee...very often.

The two 45 min workouts is where you will have to change your daily routine. This is where you will have to make time, either before work, after work, during your favorite TV show, in between the kids soccer practice...this is where you will make time to get these done. One MUST BE DONE OUTSIDE...no matter the weather, get your ass outside and do some work. It can be as simple as a walk. We walked the dog for 45 mins each evening for our 2nd workout. Now mind the real weather emergencies, don't be dumb. This is where the Mental Toughness aspect comes into play. The excuses will tell you to stay inside where it's warm, dry and cozy...WRONG! This is where your Boss Voice needs to come out and say "Lets F*king Go" Don't let your Bitch Voice out speak your Boss Voice.

Reading 10 pages of a non-fiction book. Jon and I chose books we were interested in. His was finance, real-estate and growing your wealth. I chose books like, “Start with Why”, leadership books and growing your brand. We chose these books because we were genuinely interested in them and we knew they would help in our future projects. So find something you are really interested in and read those books. NEVER STOP LEARNING is a great point 1st Phorm teaches us. Even as adults we should never stop learning, never stop reading, never stop growing into the person you want to be.

I will say you NEED to read his book- 75 HARD. IT IS VERY HELPFUL IN PURSUING THIS CHALLENGE!!

Sticking to a diet/no cheat meals/ no alcohol. This was a challenge of course, but it was not world ending. Jon and I chose to count our macros and stick to our numbers using the 1st Phorm App (which was the most helpful thing in the entire world!)

We focused on eating whole foods, less processed snacks. whole food proteins and no sweets. Some days it was very challenging, I just wanted that one cookie, that one piece of candy…but in the long run you really don’t need it. The alcohol was not a big change for either of us. Jon likes to have the occasional beer for dinner or on the weekends so he missed it a little more than I did. Overall, it wasn’t a big missing piece in our lives.

LIKE I SAID EARLIER… If you forget to do one of these tasks during the day you will have to start over at Day 1. This is part of the mental toughness challenge, completing all the tasks at hand before your head hits the pillow at night. Knowing that you won the day, you completed all your tasks and you feel good about yourself before you go to bed. You won’t be thinking of all the things you didn’t do or could have done, you WON THE DAY. Make sure you win the day every day. One day turns into one week, turns into one month and then you are winning the whole year!

Above is after 75 days.

After 75 days of hard work, this is what we achieved.

Physically, we lost weight, got a bit stronger and leaner, but mentally we became so much stronger.

This challenge is built to challenge and change you. Take the time, complete the tasks and learn from your new habits.

Create the new person you want to become. Take this challenge seriously, and step up to the failure if you forget to complete all the tasks in one day, it will help you grow.

Don’t take the easy way out! Complete all 75 days and teach yourself to become the best you.

If it doesn’t challenge you…it doesn’t change you.

I’ll leave you with an Andy quote… “If not now, then when? If not us, then who?”
